Women: No necklaces, stud earrings only; hair must be pulled back away from the face, preferably up; no bracelets or watches; conservative black shoes. Hem should be neat and even.
Note: The conductor reserves the right to request a singer change before a concert appearance if she deems the singer’s appearance to be distracting from the group.
X. COMPUTER AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY USAGE The syllabus and other course materials will be published on the internet.
XI. COURSE POLICIES A. All e-mail communication will be through AU e-mail accounts. B. If you miss more than six classes for any reason, you must withdraw or fail the course. C. If you miss a performance without an excuse, you must withdraw or fail the course. D. If you miss a class without an excuse, your grade will be lowered by one let- ter. E. The following excuses are valid if presented in writing at the rehearsal imme- diately following the absence: F. Illness documented by a health care professional G. Death in the immediate family H. Significant professional opportunity I. Tardies excused by an official of the college J. Three tardies equal one absence. K. If a student anticipates a conflict with a performance other than an officially sanctioned school event, he or she must discuss it with the director during the first week of classes. The director will determine if the absence is excused. If it is not, he may or may not offer opportunities to make up the absence through service to the choir. The choir is not obligated to give consideration to such conflicts after the first week of classes. L. Cell phones, beepers, pagers, etc are not allowed in the choral room during rehearsal. M. No food or beverages allowed in choral room except for water in closed con- tainer. NO FOOD OR DRINK NEAR THE PIANO, EVER.
